★★★★★ pretty cool
Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2022did not burn 3 hours. but was warm, smelled good, and the flame grew as it burned. can take a little longer then expected to light, easy to stop (just slide the lid on).
I let it burn all the way down, and that does seem potentially dangerous because the tin seemed very hot at the end.
I heard you can add wax to it if it's about halfway and extend its burn time, which would make this even better...
★★★☆☆ Was a little high priced

★★★★★ Great portable (and refillable!) campfire
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2022I am a full-time nomad and live in nature as much as much as possible (forest, desert, mountains, etc). Since I spend a lot of time in places that are barely recognized as campsites (if at all), it’s often unreasonable to expect a fire ring, so I like to bring my campfire with me. I also prefer not to smell like campfire smoke and don’t need a huge bonfire.
So this cute little Radiate checks all of my boxes. When all cones are lit, within 5 minutes the flame is about 2 feet high. Sometimes if I just want the ambience of a fire but don’t care how big it is, I light only 3 or 4 cones, which has prolonged the burn time of the original wax.
As an experiment, I let the fire burn until most of the original wax was gone, then added smallish chunks of pure beeswax to the tin while the fire was still burning to melt the wax and refill the tin. I have been able to do this twice now and estimate this tin’s total burn time to be 9 hours and climbing.
So, I don’t rate this product very high for overall value, because if I had to buy a new one after 3-5 hours of burn time that would get expensive very quickly.
But I DO rate it super high for solving the desire for a portable campfire, along with the fact that, so far anyway, I have been able to refill it and avoid buying a new Radiate every few days.
Even if I can’t refill it forever, I have ideas for how to make my own if I want to…and if I don’t want to, I will happily buy another Radiate.
★★★☆☆ Burns out quickly
Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2022So easy to use the only downside is that it burns out quickly. It says 3+ hours but definitely didn’t last more then 1.5 hrs. Not a great value for the price
★★★★☆ Keeps bugs away
Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2022I was looking for a mini campfire for areas that don't have much firewood. Easy to use and no cleanup which is great.
Be warned though, this has eucalyptus oil in it so it cannot be used to cook food. I bought this for that very reason. It would have been nice if that was in the description! I still kept it and cooked my food on a mini stove.
