The Jura GIGA 5 espresso machine aims to extract the aromas from the coffee and channel them into the cup.
The fresh, roasted coffee beans are first of all carefully ground. Its 2 high performance grinders guarantee quick, precise, even and consistent grinding. This is possible because the grinder is made from a virtually wear-free technical ceramic.
What is special about GIGA 5 grinding process ? Many professional barista know that it is not possible to manually adjust the consistency of grind during the short grinding process. Variable dual spout with four outlets
The dual spout dispenses the liquid into the cup and can be smoothly height-adjusted (between 2.75 – 6.25 in) and width-adjusted (between 0.78 – 2.0 in).

I've had a Giga 5 for over two years and just figured out how to maintain the milk system easily and cheaply.After you're done making milky coffees, rinse the milk tubing, connect it back to the machine, dip the milk input end in a fresh container of water under the spout and press on One portion froth or One portion milk. It will heat up the water and run it through the milk system. It cleans it quite well at very low cost. Using the Expert Mode, I configured my One portion milk setting to run 2 seconds for milk and 2 seconds for froth. It's enough. Then you turn off the machine and it rinses the milk system as usual.
The big advantage of this method is that you no longer have to clean the spout itself, it doesn't get clogged.

We have one of these at my office, and it's a revelation. It's like the Swiss Army Knife of coffee makers. The product that comes out of these things is amazing.With that said, the milk mechanism is absolutely the weak link of this thing. You never know what you're going to get. When it's good, it's wonderful. But when it's bad, it comes out like a bubble bath or worse. We quit using the milk tank because it became more trouble than it was worth.
This is actually our office's second Jura Giga 5. The first one broke on us after the warranty had expired.

I recently purchased a refurbished Giga 5 after years of using a high-end Pasquini conventional espresso machine. I hemmed and hawed over the price and the shift from manual to automatic. (I drove a stick shift for years before buying an automatic and have never looked back). The conventional espresso machine was overtaking my kitchen - 2 noisy grinders, a knock box, frothing containers, errant coffee grinds. etc. and was on its last legs. The old machine also took time to heat up.The Jura 5 is pricey but the convenience of 2 programmable quiet grinder hoppers, a vast selection of coffee/milk drinks and the ability to adjust the ratio between hoppers and adjust the grind on each is ideal. It makes a great coffee - from espresso to foam and steam lattes. You can spread the spouts to make 2 coffees or leave them together for a single. Some have complained about the water jug capacity. I do not find it an issue at all.
It has a barista setting where you can configure some coffee shop drinks. There is a slight learning curve but the instruction manual, the Jura website, and the youtube videos make it fairly easy to run. (I had coffee jitters the first night from sampling the different offerings.)
This is a well-designed, efficient machine. It is easy to clean. You simply select milk cleaner, then coffee cleaner and the machine does all the work. Others have had some nits about not being able to see the amount of water left in the machine's jug. Not a big deal for me.
Being able to have a coffee within moments of turning the machine on is nothing short of wonderful. This machine is fairly flawless.
