What Some Customers Say About Their Experience with Traveler Guitar Ultra Light Acoustic Reviews
Traveler Guitar Ultra Light Acoustic Review | How portable and playable is this acoustic electric guitar? What is the quality of this travel guitar? Is it comfortable and easy to use?
★★★★★ Love It
Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2023Portability is the main reason to buy this guitar. Playability is the second reason. It's great for both. Sound quality would come last, and is the thing you kind of have to sacrifice. However, I enjoy playing it unamplified more than I thought I would. It's very quiet, but still easy to hear. Playing through a small, 5 watt amp works well. Can sound pretty acoustic, and pretty darn electric with some amp adjustments. So yeah, buy it for the portability and playability, be realistic on the sound quality expectations, and you will love it.
★★★★★ Dream travel guitar.
Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2023Love playing this in my hotel room on overnights. Won’t disturb neighbors and super easy to travel with. Size is its biggest strength. YOU HAVE TO BUY THE TRAVELER AMP WITH IT. Without the amp you can’t hear much/unplayable. The Mustang Micro Amp does NOT work with this particular guitar. Need a pedal for it to work with Mustang Micro. I also bought the Swiitech Amp (transmitter & receiver) to cut the headphone cord and am loving it. Latency is there but definitely worth it. You adjust your strumming within seconds.
★★☆☆☆ Great Idea for a Travel Guitar – Not so Great Factory QA
Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2023I love the size of the guitar as it is very compact to not take up much space and is quiet for practicing in a studio apartment. My only true gripe is that there appear to be some issues with QA out of the factory. The unit I received has a slightly damaged nut around the high E string that causes it to have a horrible tinny sound when played open. When fretted the string sounds fine so I've ended up just using a capo most of the time I play with this, but was disappointing to have that issue straight out of the box.
★★★★★ It’s for either quiet practice or use with a pickup
Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2023I love this thing to pieces, it's exactly what I hoped for and needed. Might just not be for everyone because unlike the Martin Backpacker, it's very quiet unless you use the pickup which is... present. Traveler Co. basically just hid that under the bridge and it works fine, just not studio quality I'm sure some are looking for. That aside, this guitar is my new favorite 'cause I can take it everywhere with no effort.
★★☆☆☆ Pretty poor sound quality.
Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2024I got this to travel with and practice in hotel rooms without bothering anyone. The size and weight sure fit the purpose. Unfortunate the sound quality was just too poor to justify the cost. I definitely expected to compromise in this area but for the money I also expected much better tone.
First off, I got it as a bundle with the headphone amp. I have a Fender Mustang micro but read a couple reviews saying it doesn't work with it. I can verify that. So I used the one that came with it and it was a pretty dirty sound. I thought the gain was turn up so I checked all controls. Nope, the bundle I bought shipped with an electric guitar amp instead on acoustic and even at minimum gain it was a dirty sound. My fault assuming a acoustic guitar would bundle with an acoustic amp and not verifying. So I ordered the Traveler acoustic headphone amp.
The sound was just pretty bad. Really rattly and only the low E string had any kind of bass so cords sounded very uneven in tone and volume. I just couldn't reconcile the cost of the guitar with sound quality I was hearing.
The construction quality was nice enough. I got the dark finish and it was nice. The design is clever and comfortable enough to play but no matter what I tried for amps and effects I couldn't get much of an 'acoustic' sound out of it. I'm sure the electric version sounds much closer to an electric than the acoustic version does to an acoustic.
Other people seem happy with it which is why I bought it so maybe I just got a dud but for the money it sounded too much like what it is. A stick with strings.
★★★★★ For travel and for home
Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2022I didn't think I'd play this travel guitar as much as I do. I originally bought it for travel to practice in hotel rooms while I am away, but I find myself playing on it at home while sitting in the living room with my wife. It is not too loud to bother her even while she is working on her laptop. I can plug it into a mini VOX amp along with my phone or laptop and play along to tracks or songs without anyone hearing except me. Very pleased with my purchase.
