Product Features of Herman Miller Aeron Chair Ergonomic
Aeron has been remastered to meet the needs of today’s work, workers, and work environments. The new Aeron functions more intelligently than ever before, thanks to the collaboration of co-designer Don Chadwick and Herman Miller’s most recent research on the science of sitting.
While its iconic form has remained largely unchanged, the Aeron Office Chair has been remastered from the casters up to meet the needs of today’s work and workers. The Herman Miller team thoughtfully modified the chair based on the most recent study in the science of sitting, as well as developments in materials, production, and technology.
- Tilt Limiter lets you set the recline range at one of three postures. Tension control lets you adjust the amount of effort needed to recline comfortably. Seat Angle Adjustment changes seat angle from neutral to engaged
- Try the Adjustable PostureFit Sacral/Lumbar support. Two individual pads flex independently and can be adjusted to fit the curve of your spine
- Fully Adjustable Arms adjust from a height of 6.8” above the seat to 10.8 inches above the seat. You can slide backward and forward over a range of 2.5 inches, pivot 15 degrees outward and 17.5 degrees inward
Key Benefits of Herman Miller Aeron Chair
- Stay Cool: By doing away with foam and fabric, the Herman Miller Aeron Chair solved one of the prolonged sitting’s biggest predicaments: the buildup of heat and humidity close to the body. Pellicle allows air, body heat, and water vapor to pass through the seat and backrest to help maintain even and comfortable skin temperatures.
- Get into the Zones: The Herman Miller Aeron Chair’s Pellicle suspension, a revolutionary elastomeric component, removed pressure points that restricted blood flow and pushed the frontiers of material design. New 8Z Pellicle pushes the material to a whole new zone-eight of them. Across the seat and back, eight latitudinal zones of varying tension-tightest at the edges and more forgiving where the body makes contact-envelope the sitter, and deliver increased comfort and ergonomic support.
- Cross Performance Design: For individuals sitting in Aeron, cross-performance design means the chair fully accommodates the most comprehensive possible range of activities and postures people adopt while working-from intense forward-facing focus to relaxed contemplative recline. For designers and organizations, cross-performance makes Aeron suitable for a wide array of workplace settings-from residential work points to shared workshops.
- Designed for the Environment: Aeron is 53% recycled content (and is 89% recyclable), with all urethane, neoprene, and methylene chloride removed.
Aeron Remastered From The Casters Up
All of the Herman Miller Aeron Chair’s features were designed to work together to comprehensively support its user. With updates that include a more refined tilt mechanism, adjustable PostureFit SL, and breathable 8Z Pellicle suspension, Aeron Remastered has never been more health-positive.
- Breathable fabric keeps you cool and comfortable.
- Three chair sizes mean the most comfort to the largest range of users.

- Harmonic Tilt supports the way you naturally move, for a smooth and balanced recline.
- Fully adjustable arms (height, depth, and angle) allow for a custom fit.
- Composed of recycled materials, the production of Aeron in Onyx helps divert plastic waste from the ocean.

This chair has changed my chair Jockey life chained to a computer. Easy to adjust, no assembly, was comfortable like a perfect fitting shoe and provides amazing support getting rid of my back pain brought on by my old chair. It conforms to your body and stays on your back as you move forward or backward continually providing support. Very glad I purchased it.
★★★★☆ Good support with a bit smell from the armrest

It feels good sitting in the chair. A little smell from the armrest. Bought it for my wife who is pregnant. May wait a bit until the smell fades.
★★★★★ Nice chair…Chair…. mostly.

A nice sturdy chair. However after sitting for a long time the chair becomes uncomfortable on the outside bottom of my legs. This is due to the flex of the seat of the chair where it meets the structure of the seat. But overall happy with this chair.
★★★★★ Terrific for back pain and comportable also.
This product is really awesome!
★★★★★ This is a keeper

I purchased the fully loaded chair in new condition. Very good adjustments, the only thing two things that the chair does not have are the lock in place at any angle tilt mechanism, and the armrests cannot be moved inwards/outwards (the tips can be angled inwards, but the whole arm cannot be brought closer to your body). Both of these are not shortcomings for me.
Ergonomics:
I am 5'10in and 175 and the B Size chair was too small for me. The S/L support was too low on my back and the top of the back rest was too low for my shoulder blades. I watched a bunch of videos online with people taller than me sitting in chairs that are the wrong size for them. I got the C Size and everything fits right. The seat pan is at the limit of being too long, my legs clear the plastic edge in the front by half an inch. Adjusting the S/L lumbar support is done in a gradual and what I would call 'natural feeling' way. This is the chair for me and I could tell the difference right away. The moment I sat in it, it felt right, which I never experienced with any of my previous chairs. It is a matter of taste and body shape because my wife hates the Herman Miller but loves the Leap V2.Compared to other products:
1. Before, I purchased a Hyken chair from Staples, and that one has a lumbar support that is too aggressive for my liking (I took it off and the comfort improved), the head rest was too low for me (I removed it), but the biggest problem for me was the mesh. The mesh felt very abrasive, harsh to the touch and uncomfortable to my skin somehow. The chair felt cheap, had good ergonomics overall after removing the parts aforementioned, and it was solidly built.2. Another chair that I tried was Steelcase Series 1, and that one had the best design of them all. Unfortunately, the lumbar support was too aggressive and hard (a piece of plastic without any padding). The seat cushion was very comfortable, too bad the back rest was not a good fit. The chair felt light and easy to move around which I really liked.
3. After returning the Steelcase Series 1, I ordered the fully loaded Leap V2. This had all the adjustments in the book, nothing is missing here. My wife loves this chair and that is her choice as being the most comfortable. She is 5'4in and 125lb. Although I dialed the chair in to my liking, I could not get it to feel quite right. The problem for me was the fact that the chair has a curved back from side to side, and the curvature of the lower portion of the chair would push on the sides of my back in a weird uncomfortable way. The seat padding was good, but I liked the Series 1 seat better (it was softer). Both Steelcase chairs are built to last.
To sum it up: you have to try these chairs to see which one you find to be the right fit for you. The Aeron is the right choice for me. Try them for days on end at home, not half an hour in a retail store. Buying one of these chars is expensive, but it's worth it in the long run. I feel a lot less tired at the end of the day after sitting in this chair.
