- Step-1: Put a new Hygiene cap probe cover on the tip of the thermometer
- Step-2: Power on the device by pressing the “on/off” button
- Step-3: Press the “Age Precision” button to choose the age group.
- Step-4: Insert the thermometer ear probe snugly into the ear canal.
- Step-5: Press the “temperature” button to take a reading.
- Step-6: Read the color-coded display for easier interpretation of results
- Step-7: Discard the used Hygiene cap probe cover by pressing the ejector trigger

It is by far the most consistent and accurate IR thermometer other than an actual oral thermometer. There are several brands out there that are a lot cheaper, but the ones made by KAZ (Vicks, Braun et. al.) seem to have the most consistent readings.

Would i be able to use Braun thermoscan pc20 covers with this model?

Do you always have to select an age before you can take a temperature?
You will have to select an age category every time you turn the thermometer on.
Can Braun Thermoscan 7 be used without the lens filters? (Just clean between uses)?
You will have to use lens filters with this unit for each reading.
